Superbly designed three bedroom luxury villa with fabulous views of Clarke’s Court Bay, Hog Island and the ocean beyond.

Tivigny House gives the discerning visitor a luxury and peaceful retreat in a rural, ocean-side setting. Situated on the south coast of Grenada on Clarke’s Court Bay, the villa is only 10 minutes from the ‘busier’ Grand Anse area and 15 minutes from the airport, but gives the impression of being a world away.

The house has commanding views from almost every room of Clarke’s Court Bay, Hog and Calivigny Islands, the village of Woburn and its marina, and out over the reefs to the ocean.

The accommodation at Tivigny is versatile and makes for easy, sociable living. The open plan kitchen/dining area is at the heart of the house, with views over the swimming pool and out to sea through large doors that slide right back to give an uninterrupted vista.

The sitting room, veranda and a shady gazebo for outdoor dining are all adjacent to the kitchen/diner. There are ample opportunities to relax in comfort. Large ceiling fans supplement the cooling breezes which waft throughout the house. Windows and doors have adjustable louvres and insect screens to provide bug-free ventilation.

The house is comfortably and elegantly furnished with a mixture of English soft furnishings, cane furniture, modern furniture and antiques. Colourful blinds and curtains give a tropical feel.

The pool and veranda are just a step from the living area of the house. The saline pool is fenced and gated, and sports a spectacular vanishing edge. When you are in the pool, the waterfall edge blends into the sea below you, giving the effect of swimming in the ocean.

The pool also has its own shower and a wet bar with three stools where you can enjoy your sundowners. And there is a cloakroom near the pool with an additional shower.

Tivigny House can sleep from two to six adults, plus a child and an infant, in three air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms.

The downstairs suite can be arranged as large twin beds or a king double. The upstairs suite offers a king double. Both of these suites have twin balconies, a walk-in closet, a luxury bathroom with a thermostatically controlled shower and twin basins.

The third bedroom has two 4' 6" beds and can additionally accommodate a cot and/or fold-up bed. This suite has a tub with a thermostatically controlled shower and is ideal for children or those who simply prefer a bath to a shower. A door leads to a large balcony shared with the upstairs main suite.

At the bottom of the driveway, a grassy footpath leads down to an attractive small black sand beach and the house’s private jetty. You can swim and snorkel from the jetty or the beach, and take a kayak out on the sheltered waters of the bay. Explore uninhabited Hog Island with its golden beach. Paddle across on a Sunday afternoon and you may well find Roger setting up his barbecue beside his rustic beach bar. These barbecues are popular with the yachts people who anchor around Hog Island. Beware of Roger’s rum punch, though!

Tivigny is also a good base for hiking and hill walking.

The housekeeper comes every weekday. All linens, including pool towels are provided. Catering, babysitting, guests’ laundry, tours and other services are available by arrangement.

Unique waterborne facilities at Tivigny House

Unique amongst the villas on this website is the combination of a small outboard dinghy and a pair of single-seat ocean kayaks for guests’ use. The little motor boat is ideal for exploring the nearby bays, inlets and coves, or as a ‘base’ for snorkelling over the inshore reefs.

Tivigny House amenities include:

PC with ADSL internet connection; satellite & cable TV and DVD/music system with surround sound; Owner’s CD and small DVD collection, plus a selection of books and games; gas barbecue; exercise bike; motor dinghy and kayaks, lifejackets; fully equipped kitchen, including two large fridge/freezers, iced water and ice maker; dishwasher; microwave; blender; food processor; electric citrus press; toaster; electric kettle; bread maker; coffee maker; coffee grinder; stainless steel cooker with 5-burner gas hob and electric oven; laundry; generator.
