April 3- 15th, 2008 MY stay at SILENT DOVE was the very best and a choice that I do not regret for one moment! It is a very peaceful, spacious, private and secure house overlooking Grand Anse Beach and the Golf Course perched on top of a steep hill. The pictures shown on the website are very true to form with the exception of the hammock on the veranda which I must admit was the only downside for me. The house is located in a very breezy area of Grenada and to have a pool or air conditioning would be a waste of vacation dollars if this is seen as a deterrent in renting this house. It is excellent value for money given its location and year-long rental rate on a sliding scale. Broad band Internet service is available on a monthly basis for US$68.98 which is quite expensive if staying in touch vie email is not important to you. I found it helpful. However, the land line is included to use for local calls within the island if you decide to use this service. A Pay-as-you-go cell phone is also available for use while staying at the house. There are three good size rooms with the master bedroom courting a magnificent king size bed which is extremely chronic back friendly and has its own ensuite shower with plenty of hot water. A house keeper comes three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and will do your washing and general chores. If you are in good shape, enjoy walking and do not mind using public transport to get around the island, do not have young children or out of shape teens, then there is no need for a rental car or jeep. There is another steeper hill to climb up and down to and from the main road where public transportation is very frequent; none of the bus drivers will go up the hill only a taxi driver will due in part to the road not being in the best of shape. There is a good taxi driver who lives nearby and is very reasonable and reliable. There is a little corner shop near the house where last minute items and alcohol can be purchase much like a seven eleven, beckers or variety store. There is also a clubhouse across the golf course where soft drinks and hard liquor can be purchased. Grenada is a beautiful island with lots of things to see and is extremely modern and up to date. Lastly, Nick Hughes is the very best; a true English gentleman with a flair for impeccable detail, professionalism and charisma. I highly recommend Spice Island to anyone who is looking to find a perfect vacation rental; all questions will be answered promptly and honestly by Nick. I have already decided to make this the only rental to use for my future visits to Grenada.

March 08: We spent a fantastic week at Xel-Ha, it is conveniently located for all the best restaurants and beaches. The villa is very spacious with high ceilings, tiled floors and Mexican art and decor. Very cool in both meanings of the word! 'Cool' to escape the hot sun and a 'cool' place to stay! The pool was a delight, especially for our two girls. Great sun terrace to relax and unwind. Early evening G&Ts were a special treat from the complimentary bar. It was very breezy when we were there, which helped to cool us down. Sonia the housekeeper was very pleasant and Linnette was always on hand to help us. Nothing was too much trouble! We even got used to the bumpy roads to the villa (make sure you hire a 4-wheel drive!). We recommend you go for lunch at Petite Bacaye Villas, fantastic salads and you are welcome to use the sun loungers after you have dined. Lovely setting! La Sagesse was also a beautiful beach, food was good although the service was not up to much. The Beach House was the best for dinner, fantastic food and setting. Aquarium was also excellent, especially Sunday for the barbecue. We found the people in Grenada to be very friendly and helpful. The weather was lovely and the scenery amazing. We would definitely recommend Xel-Ha. Perfect if you’re looking for a quiet retreat which is only 15-20 mins to St George’s and Grand Anse resorts. Thanks for looking. We just returned from Grenada and stayed at Villa Amarillo for 10 days. We had a wonderful time! The Villa is beautiful and Wendy is a great housekeeper. Anna greeted us upon our arrival with a delicious meal and lots of helpful information. Nick was very helpful in planning our vacation. He recommended Mandoo as a tour guide. Mandoo has so much information on this beautiful island and we enjoyed our time with him. We also spent a fun day sailing and snorkeling arranged with Footloose Yacht Charters. Our son is a student at St George's and the villa is just a short walk from the University. We look forward to working with Nick and Spice Isle Villas to plan our next vacation to Grenada!

We recently returned from a 2 week stay at Mor-Gan Villa. This was our third visit to Grenada in three years, previously having stayed at a hotel. Despite our love for this beautiful island, nothing could have prepared us for how much we would enjoy Mor-Gan Villa. The house is most comfortable, yet simple - just what we like, set beautifully in a splendid garden with view of the sea and pool. Nick had kindly seen to every detail prior to our arrival: meeting at airport, car rental, initial provisioning and even first dinner. My husband hates eating in restaurants and we never did. Venita cooked us wonderful local dishes, including the best chocolate birthday cake ever, which we enjoyed each evening on the verandah. During the day, our every need was met efficiently, yet unobtrusively by Venita and Catherine. On our return to the house after daily outings, we felt as if we had come 'home'. When our cousin arrived for the second week, she immediately proclaimed, "I am never leaving"! Leave, we did, of course. However, we have kept Mor-Gan Villa in our hearts, and we certainly hope to return next year. Thank you, Pat and Nick, for your hospitality, and Venita and Catherine, for your care.

Comments:

Tivigny House is truly the loveliest home we have ever been so privileged to enjoy, in more than 20 years of villa vacationing throughout the Caribbean! The design & amenities (infinity pool, cool dinghy named "Nipper", and 2 kayaks) have left nothing to chance, and no expense has been spared in the construction & appointing of this beautiful home overlooking Hog Island and Clarke's Court Bay. It was a perfect setting for our family retreat, which included 2 very young girls. If the layout & amenities weren't enough, Mark & Liz (owners) have found the loveliest house manager/housekeeper, Maudlyn & Ursel - they make you feel like family & at home right away! They will even teach you to cook delicious Grenadian meals if you are so inclined! We very highly recommend Tivigny House!!!
